Back to It: I Took a Break and Now I’m Back (haha…get it?)

This won’t surprise you, but I’ve been out for a minute. A lot has happened since I’ve written (in April of 2019):

  • I had a liver tumor removed.
  • I helped take a company public (whoo!!)
  • I got pregnant with our son.
  • That pregnancy was very difficult, I had complete previa, and was on bedrest.
  • I gave birth mid-March 2020, right as the lockdowns began (We were on the front page of the Salt Lake Tribune!).
  • Ya know…the whole 2020 thing. We bought a cabin. That was nice.
  • 2021 brought job changes, panic attacks, and general difficulties.
  • 2022 was survival mode.

And…here we are. Things are better. Our son is almost 3 years old. Our daughter is 6.

And now, I’m ready to write again.

After a break from writing, it can be difficult to get back into the swing of things. It feels daunting, and I get lost in the sea of thoughts and ideas. However, I am excited to get back here and regain that passion for the craft.

For me, that passion comes from the ability to write about important topics that can make a difference in people’s lives. Readers of this blog know I love to write about my experience with survival after a spinal fusion and the resulting chronic pain. Most importantly, I’ll share how to stay active and as functional as possible.

I have spent time researching and learning about spinal fusions, chronic pain, and alternative treatment options. I am excited to continue to share my knowledge and help educate others about this important topic.

I’m making a commitment to posting more regularly and creating spaces for questions and requests. I’ll have a newsletter to accompany this blog and will be working on building an online community as well.

Tell me how you’re doing and what you’re interested in. Looking forward to this!
